A Florida property manager is being sought by police after investigators determined she embezzled hundreds of thousands of dollars from homeowners’ associations to finance her personal lifestyle.

WGME reports the Martin County Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant for Alexandra Delacaridad Gonzalez, who worked as a property manager and bookkeeper for Avant-Garde Property Management. She is wanted on two counts of fraud exceeding $50,000, two counts of grand theft, 61 counts of uttering false instruments, and 59 counts of embezzlement.

According to investigators, Gonzalez allegedly used her access to homeowners association accounts to write checks to herself while managing financial records for multiple HOAs. She camouflaged her chicanery by creating fictitious invoices, falsifying ledger entries, and forging the signatures of authorized account holders.

Subpoenaed financial records reportedly showed that Gonzalez used the stolen funds for personal expenses, including shopping, vacations, and plastic surgery. Authorities identified Whitemarsh Reserve Homeowners Association in Stuart and The Dunes of Hutchinson Island as confirmed victims, and additional homeowners’ associations may have been impacted.

Gonzalez is not currently in custody and here exact whereabouts are unknown, although it is believed she is still in Florida.

  1. Hopefully in FL she will be caught and sentenced to a lot of time. HOA’s are people’s finances rolled into managing the care of their properties. No $, no upkeep, lower values, less wealth.
