A realtor in Las Vegas was shot and killed by a police officer shot after for help after an intruder broke into his home.
According to combined media reports, Brandon Durham was in his home with his 15-year-old daughter in the early hours of Nov. 12 when he called the police to report a home invasion. At 12:40 a.m., officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department were in the house when Officer Alexander Bookman saw Durham and the intruder, Alejandra Boudreaux, struggling over a knife. Boudreaux has been in a relationship with Durham, according to the police report.
Bookman shouted, “Drop the knife! Drop the knife!” and fired one shot that hit Durham and sent him and Boudreaux to the ground. Durham was on the floor when Bookman opened fire at him five more times. After he was fatally shot, Boudreaux told the officer he shot the wrong person, the police report said.
Boudreaux was taken into custody and while Durham was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident marks eighth fatal police shooting in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction this year. Bookman was placed on administrative leave and authorities are considering whether he will be criminally charged for killing Durham.
Boudreaux was charged with one count of performing an act in willful or wanton disregard of safety resulting in death, one count of home invasion with a deadly weapon, one count of assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence, as well as one count of child abuse, neglect or endangerment.
Durham was a realtor with Signature Real Estate Group in Henderson, Nevada, and was also an area sales manager with Dwellness Home Warranty.

Oh my gosh, this is awful. How tragic.
Really, after he was down he fired 5 shots into someone on the ground who may have had a knife? Rediculous.
Really, after he was down he fired 5 shots into someone on the ground who may have had a knife? Cop should be held liable for murder.
You got that right. I was beginning the think being a realtor was dangerous, but actually it being around police that is dangerous (or any armed gang).
This headline should say “Homeowner” not Realtor as the fact he was a Realtor had NOTHING to do with his death. It makes it look like the Realtor profession is even more dangerous than it is.
My thought exactly. Why this headline?? Not relevant in any way.
Entire story was so poorly written.
“Realtor is less sympathetic than Homeowner”…after all “She” deserves the benefit of the doubt.
What’s being a realtor have to do anything and it sounds like a relationship gone bad
Wonder who they would have shot if the Realtor had been white? (and I’m white)
We already know the answer to that. SMH….That cop should be charged with murder.
How senseless and tragic, and his child was there. It seems like things are only getting worse.
This is absolutely crazy unacceptable. Everybody should stand up against this. This police officer should be convicted of murder and never let out.
spat turned violent

THIS CPO NEEDS TO BE LOCKED UP. FAIR AND SQUARE!!!!
I Just do not understand the need for excessive force. You shoot once, so to speak, suspect is on the ground with a KNIFE. WHY DO YOU SHOOT AGAIN AND 5 TIMES???
WHAT IS WRONG WITH OUR COMMON SENSE AND HUMANITY AWARENESS?
WHAT A WASTED LIFE. HOW HORRIBLE FOR HIS DAUGHTER TO WITNESS THIS KIND OF NEGLIGENCE FROM A COP WHO SHOULD KNOW BETTER.
OUR COPS DEFINITELY NEED MORE TRAINING
Why isnt the headline stating it was the Homeowner that was fatally shot by police. The cop needs to be charged for murder. Absolutely no excuse to shoot this man. Poor child will be without a father. Disgusting!
That’s insane! That officer was out of control.
After the Summer of riots, destruction, looting, and targeting police officers, plus the Defund the Police movement a few years ago, a huge number of seasoned police officers retired or resigned all over the country. Many cities cannot hire enough officers. So hiring standards have been lowered and we have many young and inexperienced officers. All that did nothing but make things worse for everyone. Going forward, hopefully we will only allow peaceful and lawful protests.
