A man convicted of first-degree murder for using an online marketplace app to lure, rob and kill a New Orleans real estate agent was sentenced to life in prison Thursday.
Judge E. Adrian Adams of the 24th Judicial District Court in Gretna handed down the mandatory sentence for first-degree murder to Jalen Harvey, 22, who was found guilty Sept. 1 of shooting 29-year-old Joseph Vindel multiple times before abandoning Vindel’s vehicle on a New Orleans street with his body inside it.
