A pair of new real estate-focused book have been released, one highlighting Section 1031 Exchanges and the other offering strategies for selling commercial properties.

Louis J. Rogers, founder and co-CEO of Capital Square, has authored the new “Section 1031 Exchanges: How to Swap Till Ya’ Drop, Building Family Wealth While Minimizing Taxes.” Published by Davro Press, the book examines tax-deferred real estate transactions including Delaware statutory trusts (DSTs) for tax deferral under Section 1031, opportunity zone funds for tax deferral and exclusion from the sale of any asset, real estate investment trusts (REITs) for stable income and growth, and UPREIT transactions for diversification and other real estate benefits.

“This book is a guide to tax-advantaged real estate investment solutions because multi-generational legacies are built with knowledge,” says Rogers. “Investor education changes lives.”

Rogers added that all proceeds from the book’s sales will benefit the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at Virginia Commonwealth University, stating, “While building legacies is important, building the future of our youth, however possible, is essential.”

Separately, Domus Publishing has released “Selling Buildings: Maximizing Prices and Profits in Commercial Real Estate.” This new title is co-authored by Bob Knakal, founder of BKREA, and Rod Santomassimo, founder of The Massimo Group; Ryan Serhant, star of “Million Dollar Listing New York,” contributed the book’s foreword.

The book is designed to offer brokers and investors with insight on how to maximize property values, create competitive bidding environments, and close deals. According to the authors, the book offers “an unfiltered, strategy-driven look at how to dominate the CRE market—no matter your ZIP code.”
