New York State set a record for median home sale prices in July, reaching $451,000 – a 4.9% hike from the $430,000 price set one year earlier. According to data from the New York State Association of Realtors, home prices have not experienced a year-over-year decline since July 2023.
Also rising was the state’s housing inventory – 31,065 units on the market last month, up 5.1% from 29,562 homes available in July 2024. This marked the fifth consecutive month of increasing inventory statewide. New home listings were also up, rising 6% from 13,684 listings in July 2024 to 14,511 new homes on the market last month.
Alas, closed sales were down from 10,286 homes last year to 10,046 last month, a 2.3% decline. Pending sales dipped by 0.7% to 10,553, compared to 10,629 in July 2024.

I have no idea why people even want to live in NY, much less buy property there. The West coast should be used as target practice by North Korea. The NW, North and NE states should be given away to the communists in Canada. The normal people can keep the rest.
This is such an unfortunate comment. Mostly because every story posted doesn’t have to illicit such politically motivated hostility.
But since you kicked the door open here it goes……..You have just thrown away most of the country and the parts you don’t care for are the parts that pay to support the parts you want to keep? How will the “best” states eat and survive, Dreki?
