Wisconsin’s existing home sales inched up 1.7% year-over-year in November, with 5,508 transactions last month compared to 5,447 one year earlier. On a year-to-date basis, home sales were up 4.1% compared to the January-through-November period in 2023
According to data from Wisconsin Realtors Association, the modest uptick in sales came amid a vibrant expansion in new listings – 18,783, up 7.9% from the 17,493 new listings in November 2023.
Also on the rise was the state’s median price – $310,000, up 8.8% from $279,900 in the prior year.
“Home sales are generally slower during the winter months, but there are some potential advantages to buying during this time of year,” said Tom Larson, president and CEO of the Wisconsin Realtors Association. “You will likely face less competition from other buyers, and as a result, you can expect more flexibility from sellers who are motivated to list their homes during this slower season for sales.”
