Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd. has announced plans to relocate the headquarters of its US group company, Yamaha Motor Corporation USA, from Cypress, California, to Kennesaw, Georgia.
The relocation will begin later this year and run until the end of 2028. The company plans to sell all fixed assets owned by US division in Cypress, including land, offices and warehouses.
Yamaha acquired the land in Cypress for its US headquarters in 1978 and established its office in 1979. Its total site encompasses roughly 25 acres.
Yamaha’s Marine Business relocated to Kennesaw in 1999, followed by its Motorsports Business in 2019.
In a statement, the company said it was “undertaking structural reforms aimed at improving the profitability of its US operations in response to cost increases resulting from U.S. tariffs and changes in the market environment. In addition to implementing cross-business cost reduction initiatives, the company seeks over the medium to long term to build a profit structure that is not solely dependent on top-line growth, thereby transforming itself into a more resilient and robust organization capable of adapting to change.”
