The real estate software provider Yardi has partnered with the identity verification and fraud detection vendor SentiLink on a new collaboration to help residential property managers detect applications with fake or manipulated credit profiles, including those involving Credit Privacy Number fraud.
According to the companies, SentiLink technology will be integrated directly into Yardi’s ScreeningWorks Pro platform, a rules-based screening process powered by Yardi’s subsidiary RentGrow Inc. Property managers will be able to flag potential application risk, reduce unnecessary reviews, lower losses due to fraud and expedite leasing for qualified applicants, the companies added.
This added layer of protection will be available to ScreeningWorks Pro clients at no additional cost beginning in March.
“Synthetic fraud is a growing threat in the industry, and we are committed to help safeguard our clients against it by teaming up with SentiLink,” said Patrick Hennessey, vice president at Yardi. “We are excited to provide this added protection for our ScreeningWorks Pro screening clients at no additional cost.”
“With Yardi and SentiLink, the rental housing market can seamlessly up its technology game to cut fraud losses, reduce manual workloads and get qualified applicants through the process more smoothly,” said added Vivek Ahuja, head of strategic partnerships at SentiLink. “Synthetic fraud is far more prevalent than you might think. Applicants using a CPN to commit synthetic identity fraud have historically been hard to detect and are a high risk for non-payment.”
