The YouTube star MrBeast has mixed homebuilding and philanthropy with his newly released video “I Built 100 Homes And Gave Them Away!”
MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, has become YouTube’s most popular star thanks to a video series featuring outrageous challenges and stunts mixed with excessively generous charitable acts. In the new video that went live on Saturday, MrBeast teamed with three nonprofits – Food for the Poor, New Story and Techo – to construct 100 single-family homes in poverty-stricken areas of Jamaica, El Salvador, Argentina, Mexico and Colombia. After the homes were built, he gave them away for free to local residents.
In the video, MrBeast pointed out how “unsafe, life-threatening conditions” were being replaced with new residences that include electricity, running water and furniture. The El Salvador construction involved the creation of a new community to relocate residents whose home were destroyed by river flooding, while a Colombian community was relocated away from an area ravaged by windstorm; the Colombian children were also given new bicycles while the Salvadoran children were given a soccer field along with free Feastable chocolate bars marketed by MrBeast.
Since the video went online two days ago, it has generated 50 million views. MrBeast announced in the video that he hoped to build 1,000 more free homes in the future.
May God continue to bless you & may you receive back more than you have given.
