A 20,000-square-foot limestone mansion on Lake Michigan has broken the record for the most expensive home listing in Illinois.

The Wall Street Journal reported the seven-bedroom residence in the Chicago suburb of Winnetka is on the market for $35 million. The 2.3-acre property includes about 220 feet of beach frontage that includes a boardwalk on the lake and a boathouse; there is also a pool and a commercial level botanical garden.

The 1920s residence last changed hands in 2002 when financier Muneer Satter and his wife Kristen Hertel purchased the home for $9.5 million. The median home sale price in Winnetka was $1.75 million in June.
