Four people have been charged by Houston police for conducting a rental housing fraud scheme involving identity theft.

Click2Houston.com reported that Benjamin and Nazly Greene, Harold Doyle and Teresa Zuluaga were charged with engaging in organized criminal activity. The foursome allegedly used the stolen identity of a woman in Harris County, Texas, to rent properties and then list properties for rent. At least 13 properties were rented with the identity theft victim’s name, with at least one listing on Facebook Marketplace.

Doyle is a former realtor whose license was revoked in 2021 – he was a tax preparer for the identity theft victim and was arrested last month with a fake ID using the victim’s name along with what police described as “extensive amounts of fraudulent real estate applications.” according to records.

The Greenes made national headlines in 2022 when they were involved in a road rage shooting that was captured on a cellphone video that went viral. Their case was settled with grand jury no-billing him on an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge while she pled guilty to misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
