The Indianapolis campus for the recently shuttered Martin University has been listed for sale at $3.5 million.

The Indianapolis Recorder reports the listing encompasses the approximately 8-acre campus plus nine small parcels of land near the campus that are owned by the university. According to property tax records, the assessed value of the campus is roughly $13.1 million.

The school founded in 1977 by Boniface Hardin, a Benedictine Monk, and was Indiana’s only predominantly Black institution of higher learning. It moved to the campus location in 1987. Last December, the school announced it was closing due to low enrollment – only 198 students in the fall 2024 semester – and financial difficulties, and the entire staff was laid off when the school ran out of funds to cover their salaries.
