A homebuyer in Burlington, Connecticut, who acquired a home in an “as is” foreclosure auction discovered the skeletal remains of three people in the residence.
According to Patch.com, the bodies were discovered Sunday afternoon and were taken to the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. As of this writing, the cause of death for the three bodies and their identities were not determined.
“There is no indication of anything suspicious and no indication of any criminal aspect,” said the state police in a statement. “This appears to be an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public at this time.”
Data from the assessor’s office determined the 2,800-square-foot residence was last owned by Paul and Sally Anne Cash, who bought it for $535,000 in 2019. A foreclosure action was initiated against them in August 2025, but the couple did not appear during the proceedings.
The case is being investigated by the Connecticut State Police Western District Major Crime Squad.
