Two former eXp Realty agents accused of sexual assault have reached a confidential settlement in principle with plaintiff Anya Roberts, bringing the remaining claims in her federal lawsuit toward resolution days after a separate agreement involving the brokerage and its leadership.
A notice filed Wednesday morning, October 21, in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California states that Roberts reached an agreement with former agents David Golden and Michael Bjorkman. The precise filing time was not independently established.
According to the Daily Journal, Roberts’ attorney Andrea Hirsch said the parties expect to finalize the confidential agreement within days. The notice indicates that dismissal papers are expected within 15 days after finalization.
The financial terms have not been disclosed. The settlement is not a finding that either defendant committed the alleged conduct. Golden and Bjorkman have denied the allegations.
New agreement follows corporate settlement
The development materially updates WRE News’ October 19 coverage of a separate confidential settlement in principle involving eXp Realty, AGNT and eXp founder Glenn Sanford. That earlier agreement did not resolve the claims against Golden and Bjorkman, whose trial began Monday.
Roberts filed suit in December 2023, alleging she was drugged and sexually assaulted during recruiting-related activities in 2020 and that company leadership failed to respond adequately to warnings. The defendants disputed wrongdoing. A settlement resolves litigation without adjudicating the underlying accusations.
Although the new agreement brings Roberts’ case closer to an end, a separate federal lawsuit involving other plaintiffs and allegations tied to recruiting events remains pending.
Final dismissal orders and the complete October 21 notice were not independently reviewed at publication. The reported settlement remains subject to finalization.
