loanDepot Inc. (NYSE: LDI) has promoted Alec Hanson to chief marketing officer (CMO).

In his new role, Hanson will be responsible for the development of brand, digital marketing, and organic and digital lead generation campaigns and the company’s originator-led field-level marketing capabilities.

Hanson joined loanDepot in 2011 and was previously senior vice president of production for the West division. During his years with the Irving, California-based company, he authored the book “Bypassed: A Modern Guide for Local Mortgage Pros Left Behind by the Digital Customer” and loanDepot’s “Modern Lending Playbook” and also hosted the “Modern Lending” and “The Bright Side” digital newscast. Earlier in his career, he was a vice president and home loan manager at Bank of America.
