Apartment at The Plaza in NYC Sells for $66 Million

Talk about a room with a view: a 12,000-square-foot apartment at The Plaza, the New York City landmark hotel and condominium, that overlooks Central Park was sold for nearly $66 million.

The Real Deal reported unit 1109 was the fourth most expensive residential real estate deal in New York City this year. The unit last changed hands in 2008 for $45 million.

The transaction was an off-market deal and the names of the buyer and seller were not disclosed. And for those who feel they missed a great opportunity, roughly 20% of The Plaza’s 163 units are currently available for sale.
