At a time when many national retailers are closing stores, Burlington is opening 60 new stores in 26 states.
Nexstar Media reports the off-price retailer has already rolled out three new stores in New Jersey, New York and Texas, with more coming through October. An additional three stores are going to open in Puerto Rico.
Nearly a dozen of the new stores will be based in locations formerly occupied by Big Lots while five others are moving into former Bed Bath & Beyond locations and two will be taking up space at now-defunct Party City stores.
Burlington currently operates more than 1,100 stores in nearly every state.
