The real estate industry in Belarus has formed its first national trade organization.
Reform.News reports the Chamber of Realtors was registered with the Belarus Ministry of Justice on April 16. Hennadz Shykhantsou, a realtor at the Minsk City Agency for State Registration and Land Cadastre, was elected to lead the organization.
Beginning on May 16, only members of the Chamber will be allowed to provide realtor services on behalf of a real estate organization within Belarus. Admission to the Chamber will be coordinated by its board of director and all members will be identified on the new organization’s website.
The Chamber of Realtors will be responsible for creating professional standards and rules for their industry, including the strengthening of consumer rights protection. The organization added its goal was “to clear the market of unfair practices and build respect for the profession.”
