The Miami Beach mansion that was once home to iconic singer-actress Cher has been listed for sale at $42.5 million.

The 0.68-acre property in the La Gorce Island gated community features a 12,450-square-foot residence built in 1953. The Spanish-style residence has six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a pool and spa, and roughly 158 feet of frontage on Biscayne Bay.

Cher’s residency on La Gorce Island was relatively brief but profitable – according to the Wall Street Journal, she bought the property in 1993 for $1.5 million and sold it five years later for $4.35 million to Barry K. Schwartz, a co-founder of Calvin Klein Inc. The current owners, Canadian financier James Eaton and his wife Cecily Eaton, bought the property for $17 million in 2020 and invested two years into extensive renovations.

While Cher is three decades removed from the Miami Beach property, she has a presence in today’s real estate market. She listed her Malibu, California, home last year for $85 million, but later discounted it to $75 million – it is still awaiting a buyer.
