A convicted sex offender with obsession for female real estate agents is reportedly creating a new wave of harassment in Northeast Ohio.
According to combined media reports, a female agent conducting an open house in Sagamore Hills, Ohio, was approached by a man who began asking strange questions. The woman called a friend who then called the police, and the man fled after being told the police were coming.
While the man has not been publicly identified, based on the description provided and his behavior it is believed to be Robert Willett, 67, who was arrested in 2010 for attempted abduction and possession of criminal tools in a planned kidnapping of a female agent. Willett was arrested again in 2013 for assaulting a female agent.
Willett’s current whereabouts are unknown. Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich acknowledged that “recent reports indicate Mr. Willett is again targeting women who work in real estate” and added that agents should be “extra vigilant especially when coordinating meetings for home viewings.”
Mike Valerino, CEO of the Akron Cleveland Association of Realtors, stated that Willett can be easily identified.
“Robert Willett is 6-foot 5-inches, 270 pounds and he has an artificial right leg, so he isn’t hard to miss,” he said.
