Tim Hudak has announced he is stepping down as CEO of the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) on Aug. 2.
Hudak joined OREA in 2016 after a political career that culminated in his 2009 appointment as the leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario. Hudak did not say if he was leaving OREA for another opportunity, while the organization did not immediately name a replacement.
“When I was recruited to the job, as I was leaving my time in public office, I believed I would be here for about five years with a goal of delivering high impact advocacy, greater profile for the organization and refreshed, practical products to support realtors as they connect people with a great place to call home,” said Hudak in a statement that highlighted what he considered to be OREA’s accomplishments during his leadership, including efforts to pass legislation for the creation of more affordable housing and the launch of the Ontario Realtor Wellness Program offering health and insurance benefits to the OREA membership.
