Houston-headquartered Cornerstone Capital Bank has debuted a Community Lending Division with the goal of expanding homeownership opportunities for underserved communities across the nation.
The new division will be based in Arlington, Texas, and the bank stated it will seek “to close racial and economic gaps in homeownership and help families achieve their dream of owning a home.” Cornerstone’s mortgage lending presence encompasses 45 states and the District of Columbia, and the new Community Lending Division has the goal of assisting 1,000 families in purchasing homes within its first year.
“This initiative reflects Cornerstone’s commitment to creating solutions that make a lasting difference,” said Adam Laird, CEO of mortgage banking at Cornerstone Capital Bank. “By expanding access to housing, we are fulfilling our mission of building stronger communities through exceptional service and personal engagement.”
