A news story that Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic purchased a $15 million home in Dallas days before the team unexpectedly traded him to the Los Angeles Lakers is not true.
Athlon Sports reports the story was rooted in an episode of the podcast “Run It Back” with NBA analyst Chandler Parsons stated, “This dude just bought a $15 million house, just closed like last week. Apparently, he cried when he found out.”
However, Andrew Joseph of USA Today Sports took to X to debunk the story.
“At least according to property records, Luka hasn’t purchased a house recently. Just the $3.7M home he bought in 2020,” Joseph wrote, referring to his 5,225-square-foot house in Preston Hollow, Texas.
And then there was another twist – basketball writer Iztok Franko stated on his Substack that Doncic was “in the process” of investing in a house, but the transaction was not completed.
Doncic did not comment on the real estate aspect of his trade from Dallas.
