Two months after she stepped down as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Marcia Fudge has re-emerged as a partner in the prominent Taft law firm.
Fudge will also serve as the law firm’s chairwoman of public policy. According to a press release from Taft, Fudge will “dedicate a portion of her time to the firm’s ongoing efforts to combat the harmful effects of forever chemicals.”
“My top priority as a leader has always been to develop effective solutions and results for the people and communities I have been called to serve,” said Fudge in Taft’s press release. “In my transition to life as a private citizen and attorney, it was important for me to land among professionals who are similarly dedicated to solutions-driven work. Taft’s core values, culture, leadership principles, and commitment to its clients strongly align with my personal values, as does its modern approach to service.”
Fudge, who represented Ohio’s 11th Congressional District from November 2008 until her confirmation at HUD secretary in March 2021, will divide her time between Taft’s offices in Cleveland and Washington, D.C. As part of Fudge’s extended team, Imani Edwards (based in Cleveland) and Garrett McDaniel (based in Washington, D.C.) each will join Taft as a director of public affairs.
