Toronto-based Ted Baker Canada, which conducts business operations for Ted Baker Ltd. in the U.S. and the Ted Baker, Brooks Brothers and Lucky Brand stores in Canada, announced the closing of its retail operations.
The closures impact 31 U.S. and nine Canadian stores offering the Ted Baker fashion brand, along with the eight Brooks Brothers Canada and seven Lucky Brand Canada stores. Closing sales are now underway at the impacted stores and the company has halted e-commerce sales.
The closures follow Ted Baker Canada’s filing for insolvency last month. Ted Baker Canada and Ted Baker Ltd. in the U.S. are licensees of Authentic Brands Group, a fashion and retail conglomerate. Frasers Group, a retail property firm, is reportedly close to acquiring the Ted Baker’s British operations, according to a report from Reuters.
