Fox News anchor Bret Baier is seeking to break a record for the Washington, D.C., housing market through the sale of his mansion, which he has listed for $31.9 million.
According to a Wall Street Journal report, Baier and his wife Amy Baier acquired the 1.5-acre property in 2018 for $5.4 million and demolished the older home on the site in favor of a new 16,250-square-foot home with five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and two half-baths. Other amenities within the home include a floor-to-ceiling wine display, a home gym and spa, a movie theater and a two-story, indoor sports court.
Baier and his family moved into the property in April 2022, but have since decided to relocate to Palm Beach, Florida. Baier will commute to the Washington studios of Fox News and seek a smaller residence in the city.
The current home sales record in Washington is $24.56 million, which was achieved in 2007 with the sale of a mansion built around 1810.
Over the past few years, Baier has been highly active in the real estate market. He sold his previous Washington property in 2021 for $6.5 million and is trying to sell a Palm Beach residence for $16.5 million. He also purchased a Palm Beach mansion earlier this year for $37 million.
