Kiss bassist and singer Gene Simmons has listed his Beverly Hills mansion for $13.995 million.
The Wall Street Journal reports Simmons acquired the property in 2021 shortly after selling his longtime Benedict Canyon residence for $16 million. Simmons and his wife, Shannon Tweed Simmons, planned to relocate to Las Vegas and use the property in a Beverly Hills gated community to maintain a foothold in the area. But the couple changed their minds after being uncomfortable with the gambling mecca’s hot weather and returned to Beverly Hills, taking up full-time residence at the property.
The four-bedroom, 7,740-square-foot home was designed by Swiss architect Roger P. Kurath, is made of glass, steel, oak and concrete. The property includes its own art gallery and movie theater, as well as 1,800 square feet of patio space and a solar-powered, 40-foot black-lined infinity pool.
However, Simmons made it clear that he doesn’t want the next owner to move in with heavy emotional baggage.
“You have such wonderful times there, you don’t want some schmuck in the place you call home,” said Simmons. “No drugs, no alcoholics. I don’t want anybody coming in there who is going to destroy the place.”
