Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow has a new role as the celebrity spokesperson for 51 Park, a luxury residential development in the affluent Israeli city of Herzliya.
The Times of Israel reports that Paltrow stars in a new commercial for the development. The commercial was shot in New York City by the Tel Aviv advertising agency WhyWorry and it features Paltrow waking up in a high-rise apartment, going for an early-morning run, and getting ready for her day while narrating about the benefits of living near a park.
“There’s a reason the world’s most iconic buildings are by a park,” said Paltrow in the video when she is picked up by a chauffeur. She tells a driver to take her to “51 Park” and he responds, “New York?”
Paltrow replies with a smile, “Herzliya, Israel.”
The new development is being developed by Israeli real estate firm Aviv Melisron and encompasses 646 units within a pair of 51-story towers near the 173-acre Herzilya Park. The new advertising campaign is being shown on Israeli media, with Paltrow’s English-language narration translated via Hebrew-language subtitles.
While Israel-bashing has become chic among many Hollywood figures and social media denizens, Paltrow has expressed support for Israeli hostages taken during the Oct. 7, 2023 attacks and has spoken publicly about her Jewish heritage.
