Homes: High demand makes buying new construction very attractive

When they moved to Nashville to be close to their grandkids, Carolyn and Jerry Whiteford decided to skip the frustration of competing with other buyers making multiple offers for the same resale house.

The Whitefords avoided the bidding war and bought a brand new house. The builder told them the price up front, so they didn’t have to worry about losing out to someone making a higher offer. And because the house was new, they didn’t have to wait for the seller to move out.
