Gilbane Development Company, the Providence, Rhode Island-based real estate development and asset management arm of Gilbane Inc. announced the appointment of James Patchett as its new president and CEO.

Patchett previously served as partner in the real Estate practice at McKinsey & Company and as president and CEO of the New York City Economic Development Corporation. Earlier in his career, he served as CEO at A&E Real Estate, a vertically integrated real estate management and investment firm, and was vice president in the Urban Investment Group of Goldman Sachs.

Patchett will succeed Edward Broderick, who was recently appointed CEO of Gilbane Inc. and served as president of Gilbane Development since January 2014.
