The New York judge who ordered former President Donald Trump to pay more than $354 million plus interest in his recent civil fraud trial has refused to allow a delay in the judgment’s enforcement.
TheHill.com reported Judge Arthur Engoron rejected a request by the Trump legal team to delay the enforcement order by 30 days, stating the need to “protect” the defendants’ appellate rights and “ensure an orderly post judgment process.” Since Engoron’s ruling last Friday in the case involving the former president’s alleged over-valuation of his property assets, more than $87,000 in interest per day has been added to the penalty payment.
“You have failed to explain, much less justify, any basis for a stay,” Engoron wrote in an email reply to Trump lawyer Clifford Robert’s request, filed to the court docket Thursday. “I am confident that the Appellate Division will protect your appellate rights.”
The judge’s decision follows the declaration by New York Attorney General Letitia James that her office would seize Trump’s real estate assets if he failed to pay the penalties enacted against him in Engoron’s ruling. Robert accused James, a Democrat, of violating standard practices with her actions.
“The Attorney General has not filed any motion on notice, nor moved to settle the proposed Judgment; her unseemly rush to memorialize a ‘judgment’ violates all accepted practice in New York state court,” Robert said.
Trump and the co-defendants in his case, including two of his sons, have 30 days to appeal from the date of Engoron’s decision.

Very sad day in this country to watch the criminalization of the courts, the CIA, the FBI, and the media to ebonite them against a former President, and a front runner in an upcoming election. It sickens me to listen to Biden speak out about sanctions against Putin, when he and his regime are doing the same exact thing. You bring up the constitution in your nasty comment. This case has nothing to do with the constitution from the prosecution side. And more importantly, who is the victim? No one. All loans were paid back in full. Who will receive the fines if ever collect?

The law is the law, and if you knew anything about the law and what it requires for this to be a valid case, you would know that the law provides for some specific actual events to take place. Among others is, one, there must be actual damages, and two, there must be an injured party. It’s law school 101 and none of it was part of this judge’s decision. This judge should be removed for “legislating from the bench,” which means, Susan he ignored the law as it is written and adjudicated this issue according to his personal beliefs. His reprehensible conduct has severely shaken mine and many, many, others confidence in the premise that Justice is blind. In this case, it was non-existent. I’m confident this ruling will ultimately, be reversed and the question as to whether this Judge was an embarrassing fool, will be validated. the basic litmus and common sense test, Susan for this type of lawsuit is simply, no harm, no foul. I’m guessing you’ve never applied for a mortgage. Susan, lenders, never, ever, give out loans because they like you. they all do their due diligence with appraisals and whatever else they feel they need to be comfortable making the loan. Park your political bias, Susan, and embrace the law you claim to adhere to and believe in.

Why is this judge not being brought up on charges of judicial misconduct? Politics does not belong in our judicial system, and any judge who shows political favoritism should immediately be removed and brought up on charges and disbarred from practicing law. He has poor character, as character is defined – “The combination of mental characteristics and behavior that distinguishes a person.” This judge lacks
mental characteristics and proper behavior. He should be removed.
I’m concerned that the Junior Trump was given control over the family’s management of properties.
I would have assumed that Ivanka’s husband had more expertise in managing the vast wealth of properties that Trump international owned.
