The homebuilder KB Home (NYSE: KBH) is relocating its corporate headquarters from Los Angeles to the Phoenix metro area.

The company will establish new headquarters in Tempe, Arizona, in the spring of 2027. In a press statement, the company said the relocation will reduce its “cost structure over time” while offering “a business-friendly operating environment that is expected to further enhance efficiency and support long-term profitability.”

The company was founded in Detroit in 1957 and moved to Phoenix three years later. It has been based in California since 1963.

KB Home added it “will continue to maintain a significant presence in California through its six operating divisions.”

“This move brings our teams together in a more collaborative environment, and Phoenix is the right place to do it,” said Robert McGibney, president and chief executive officer of KB Home. “It positions KB Home to operate more effectively and supports the next phase of our growth.”
