A majority of UK homeowners with mortgages are concerned that they will not be able to meet their monthly payments in the near future, according to the newly published “UK Mortgage Holders Consumer Research Report 2022” report from ResearchAndMarkets.com.

The report surveyed UK mortgage holders last November and found over one in five respondents were concerned they might need have to sell their home as they struggle with repayments.

The survey also found that more than 40% of respondents were expecting to tap into their savings to help with mortgage repayments, while one-third thought they would need to ask parents or relatives for help with their home loan repayments. Among the younger age groups in the survey, the percentage likely to ask parents or relatives for support increased to between 44% (18 to 24 year olds) and 59% (25 to 34 year olds).
