Chicago-based Good Stories Publishing has released “Welcome Home” by Marlene Byrne, a 92-page hardcover coffee table book that provides a collection of home maintenance tips, recipes and stories designed for new homeowners.

“Young couples do not typically have the maintenance knowledge their parents and grandparents did,” said Byrne, a former advertising executive. “I wanted to provide simple tips to remind them of important things like knowing how to shut off their main water valve or switch a circuit in their electrical box.”

The book also includes space for new homeowners to record their stories and document the first few days in their new home. This is the first of the company’s Life Point Books line, which is designed to celebrate significant life moments.
