The Empire State’s housing market continued to struggle in June, according to new data from the New York State Association of Realtors.
Closed sales totaled 10,186 last month, down 22.2% from the 13,095 sales in June 2022. Pending sales took a 6.2% drop from 12,967 in June 2022 to 12,166 last month. New listings were also in decline – 15,109 last month, a 25.8% fall from the 20,238 listings one year ago.
The inventory of homes for sale totaled 31,605 in June, down 25.3% from 42,286 homes in the prior year. This was also the 44th consecutive month that the number of homes available has fallen in year-over-year comparisons.
The state’s median sales price of $426,001 represented a scant 0.2% uptick from $425,000 one year earlier.
