The New York Police Department is increasing patrols at the Manhattan properties owned by former President Donald Trump following yesterday’s assassination attempt at a Trump election rally in Pennsylvania.

Deputy Mayor Fabien Levy announced the police action on X (formerly Twitter).

“@NYCMayor has been briefed on the incident involving former President Trump in Pennsylvania & continues to get updates,” Levy tweeted. “Out of an abundance of caution, the NYPD will be increasing its presence across the city, including at Trump Tower, 40 Wall Street, Foley Square, & City Hall.”

Levy added that city officials saw “no nexus to NYC” and the Pennsylvania shooting, which left one rally attendee dead and two others in critical condition.

Earlier on Saturday, two people were arrested outside of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, when their SUV breached two security points. The Palm Beach Post reported a car chase ensued between law enforcement and the intruders, which ended when law enforcement officers opened fire at the vehicle. It is unclear which law enforcement agency was involved in the shooting, which is under investigation the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Trump was not at the property when the incident occurred but was originally scheduled to return later in the evening.
