A new proptech start-up has launched a platform designed address the housing challenges facing expatriates in Japan.
E-Housing provides an online resource featuring more than 4,000 housing listings available to foreigners in Japan. The platform offers daily updates from property management companies and provides users with filtering options with map-based searches, unit information from multiple sources and a move-in cost calculator.
Furthermore, E-Housing stated it has hired bilingual agents with experience living in both Western countries and Japan to help users understand cross-cultural nuances in the Japanese real estate market. E-Housing added that it is developing a screening model to help foreigners prove their creditworthiness, potentially expanding rental and purchasing options across Japan.
“We developed E-Housing to address the barriers many foreigners face when searching for housing in Japan,” said Erik Nas, CEO and founder of E-Housing. “Our goal is to make the process more equitable and accessible.”
