A Los Angeles real estate agent is leading a recall effort to force Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass out of office.
The Real Deal reports Sahil Nandwani, an agent for JohnHart Real Estate, has launched a fundraising committee to fund the recall campaign, citing Bass’ shaky response to the Los Angeles County wildfires.
Nandwani is a donor to the state Republican Party, the San Bernardino County Republican Central Committee and the campaign of Republican Rep. Ken Calvert. His recall campaign would need to obtain around 330,000 signatures, or 15% of Los Angeles registered voters, within 120 days of the filing date on the recall effort.
Bass, a Democrat and a former congresswoman who was elected mayor in 2022, was criticized for being out of the country when the fires started to spread. Bass has not taken responsibility for her administration’s problematic response to the fires, instead dismissing the city’s fire chief, Kristin Crowley, who has appealed her dismissal.

Great news! Finally someone is doing the work to get rid of this horrible ‘mayor’.
Yes we want Caruso!
Great news!
indeed!!
Where do I sign this recall petition? I’ll sign now!
sign me up. not only for the fire but also for making LA a trashy, unsafe town.
true
America needs to begin purging Democrats from sea to shining sea.
Kristin Crowley is the mayor and governor’s scapegoat. She testified in May, 2024, before the L.A. City Council and told them that the cuts they were imposing would severely hamper the Fire Dept.’s response times. They implemented the cuts anyway in part for a DEI program of $2million. This is while the city allowed dozens of fire engines to sit needing repairs when the city refused to hire mechanics to fix them.
Best of luck, Sahil.
We should all support this
Good for them. We will all pray they win!
It is about friggin time. She should also refund any salary or compensation she was paid while in office.
