Rocket Companies (NYSE: RKT) announced the appointment of Jonathan Mildenhall to the newly created position of chief marketing officer (CMO), effective Jan. 8.

In this new role, Mildenhall will be responsible for creating a unified and compelling voice for all businesses under the Detroit-based Rocket Companies umbrella, with all marketing and communications teams for the company’s brands reporting directly to him.

Mildenhall is co-founder and CEO of TwentyFirstCenturyBrand, a branding and marketing consultancy; he will remain as chairman of the business while working at Rocket Companies.  Prior to founding his own firm, Mildenhall served as the first CMO of Airbnb. Earlier in his career, he was Coca-Cola’s vice president of global advertising strategy and content excellence. is also a board member of GoFundMe and Fanatics.
