Simple Content Summary: A Georgia WARN notice lists a permanent closure affecting 73 employees at Silverton Mortgage’s Atlanta worksite. Scheduled separation dates span December 31, 2026, through May 31, 2027. The state record does not establish that Silverton’s entire national lending business is closing.

Silverton Mortgage has notified Georgia officials of a planned permanent closure affecting 73 employees at its Atlanta worksite, according to a state Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification record.

The official Georgia WARN entry identifies the affected location as 1204 Peachtree Street NE in Atlanta and lists three separation dates: December 31, 2026; March 31, 2027; and May 31, 2027. All 73 employees at the reported worksite are listed as affected.

The public state entry does not display a filing timestamp. A separate layoffs database dates the filing to October 29, but that date has not been independently established from the state entry itself. The scheduled job losses, not a completed closure, are the verified underlying event.

Originators, underwriters and capital-markets staff included

The affected roles extend well beyond administrative positions. The state filing identifies mortgage loan originators, processors, underwriters, closers, secondary marketing analysts and managers, capital-markets staff, compliance specialists, appraisal personnel, quality-control employees, marketing roles and executives.

That mix suggests the planned changes affect several functions involved in producing and supporting mortgages. The notice, however, does not quantify the number of employees in each job category or say which functions will continue elsewhere.

The filing classifies the event as a permanent closure at one location. It should not be interpreted as evidence that every Silverton Mortgage branch or all nationwide lending operations are closing.

What the filing does and does not establish

Georgia’s WARN system records advance notice of qualifying layoffs and closures. The Silverton filing lists no union-represented employees among those affected and names one Atlanta worksite. Its multiple future separation dates indicate a phased process rather than 73 layoffs occurring on a single day.

Industry reporting has linked the planned changes to a consolidation involving homebuilder Taylor Morrison, but the public Georgia WARN entry does not independently document the corporate rationale. WRE News has not verified a new company announcement confirming the operational details, so the reason for the closure remains separately attributed rather than established by the state filing.

For mortgage professionals, the significance is immediate even without a confirmed company-wide restructuring plan: the notice identifies expected job losses across origination, underwriting, servicing-adjacent operations and capital-markets functions in a major mortgage employment market.
