Sometimes we are our own worst enemies. We hold ourselves back. We convince ourselves that something isn’t possible without even trying. I’m here to tell you something you’ve probably heard time and time again, which is that if you don’t try, you’ll never succeed. And one the one thing I urge you to try is video marketing.

“Just do it!” advises Dalila Ramos, the creator of the wildly popular weekly real estate video series called Taco Tuesdays. Every Tuesday Dalila interviews a new lending executive will they eat some great tacos.

“Paralysis is the Number 1 problem that I see that people have with video/social media,” she explains. “They have these great and creative ideas, but they don’t executive. And when I get down deep to why they don’t execute, it’s always fear!”

Dalila has been in the real estate industry for over 22 years! She specializes in building relationships, helps build brand awareness, and attracts talent through her deep industry network. A Chicago native who is bilingual, Dalila is passionate about homeownership within women, single mothers, and the minority community. Along with introducing college students and future generations to the industry.

“Video is a way you can reach everyone,” she points out. “All you need to do is be yourself and talk about what you know.”

I was one of those people that was afraid to do video. I just thought it would be too hard for someone like me to master. But I put on my big boy pants and tried it. In the end, it was easy. If you have a smartphone, you can create a video and share your industry expertise to expand your business.

After doing video for a while, I wanted to get fancy so I was looking for a software to add backgrounds that I could use on multiple devices. I came across Wondershare Filmora. It’s a great tool because it’s so easy to use and it makes your videos look so professional. You can add personalized backgrounds without needing a green screen. It’s so easy to use! You can check it out online at https://filmora.wondershare.net/.

After that I wanted a special intro for my video. Impossible, right? Actually, it was very easy. I found a tool called Canva. Among other things, Canva has a library of video intros that you can choose from and customize without a degree in video editing. You can easily change the words, images, colors, effects, etc. It also has an audio library so you can add background music to your video for free. Everything you could need to create an amazing video intro is at your fingertips. You can get Canva online at https://www.canva.com/.

Now that I’ve inspired you to get started making videos, the real message of this week’s column is not to be afraid to try new things to expand your real estate business. And when you’re out there looking for new things to try, do videos, it will pay off.
