Three brothers in a prominent real estate industry family who have been the target of an FBI probe for rape and sexual assault were arrested in Miami.
The Wall Street Journal reported Tal and Oren Alexander, who were brokers at Douglas Elliman before starting their own firm Official in 2022, along with their brother Alon, an executive with the family’s private security firm, were arrested. Isabelle Kirshner, a lawyer for Tal and Oren Alexander, confirmed the arrests but said she did not know the charges against them.
In March, two women filed lawsuits accused Oren and his twin brother Alon of rape, while another lawsuit made similar accusations against Tal. The brothers are the sons of the high-profile Miami developer Shlomy Alexander.
Tal and Oren Alexander made real estate history in 2019 when they brokered the sale of a $240 million New York apartment to hedge fund billionaire Ken Griffin, which broke the record as the most expensive U.S. home ever transacted.
In July, the Journal reported the FBI was conducting investigations into alleged sexual assaults by the three brothers going back to their high school years and in the following two decades. Since the accusations emerged, Official has seen the departure of agents and executives. The brothers have denied the charges leveled against them.
Update: The Wall Street Journal reported prosecutors have accused the Alexander brothers of working together to run a sex-trafficking scheme to drug, violently assault and rape dozens of women. The brothers are expected to be extradited to New York to face charges.
