Tim Birkmeier announced his retirement as president of Rocket Mortgage, a division of Detroit-based Rocket Companies (NYSE:RKT).
Birkmeier made his announcement on his LinkedIn page – the company did not issue a press statement on the retirement, nor has there been an announcement of a successor. Birkmeier, who served as president since January 2022, prefaced his announcement with the Geoffrey Chaucer quote “All good things come to an end.”
“It is with great pride that I publicly announce my retirement from Rocket Companies and the mortgage industry,” Birkmeier wrote. It has been a tremendous nearly 28-year career run with many victories along the way and great relationships formed with so many people which will last a lifetime. It was absolutely inspiring to take part in an amazing growth story of a great North American company. As I move on to the next chapter in my life, I hope to have proven to those at RKT what can be accomplished when you are willing to sacrifice for the greater good, consciously make professional improvements and be consistent in your actions to get great results.”
Birkmeier added his appreciation to Rocket executive leaders Dan Gilbert, Bill Emerson and Jay Farner. He noted he had no immediate plans for another corporate role.
“As for me I plan to spend time in the Traverse City Area with family and friends,” he continued. You may even find me out on the lake Michigan bay and smoking a cigar in search of the next big catch! Thank You ROCKET and…. Boomski!”
