VendorAbuse.com, an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered consumer complaint platform, has launched its Florida HOA Watchlist and published a report on Florida House Bill 1203’s impact on the state’s homeowners associations.
Florida House Bill 1203, which became law on July 1, 2024, introduced criminal penalties for HOA board members engaging in fraud, kickbacks, election manipulation, and financial record destruction. Key provisions came into effect in 2025 and this year. VendorAbuse.com noted many Florida homeowners remain unaware that the law now provides them with new protections against HOAs working against their best interests.
The new Florida HOA Watchlist is designed to actively monitor complaints across the state, identifying patterns with HOAs that include financial fraud and kickbacks, illegal fining practices, retaliatory actions against homeowners who file complaints or attend meetings, election fraud and proxy manipulation, and vehicle and architectural restriction bullying.
The watchlist is publicly accessible and includes a comprehensive guide to homeowner rights under HB 1203, as well as links to state agencies and local law enforcement.
