The Vietnamese government has approved a $1.5 billion proposal by the Trump Organization to build golf courses, hotels and real estate projects in the country.

The Associated Press reports the Trump Organization and a local developer, Kinhbac City, proposed their 2,446-acre project in northern Vietnam’s Khoai Chau district. The projects will encompass a golf course the size 336 American football fields, residential areas, commercial spaces and parks. Work on the project will begin later this year, with completion scheduled for 2029.

While President Trump is not part of this project, the Vietnamese government is in talks with his administration to avoid 46% tariffs on its exports. The country is also addressing concerns from the White House that it needs to do more to halt the diversion of Chinese goods across its borders.
