The Palm Springs, California-based estate that was once owned by Academy Award-winning actor William Holden has been listed for sale at $11 million.
According to Realtor.com, the 1-acre property features a 4,449-square-foot home with five bedrooms and bedrooms. The residence was built in 1955 as the home of philanthropists George F. and Marcia Barrett and is notable for its modernist architecture, with glass walls supported by spaced wooden posts. The property also includes a pool and spa.
Holden, who won the Oscar for the 1953 film “Stalag 17” and starred in classics including “Sunset Boulevard” and “The Bridge on the River Kwai,” acquired the estate in 1966 and lived there through 1977. Actresses Tippie Hedren and Stefanie Powers later owned the property – Powers was in a relationship with Holden from 1972 until his death in 1981.
The property, which was listed as a historic site by the City of Palm Springs in 2018, last sold in 2017 for $3.4 million.
