The commissioners in Nevada’s Clark County have unanimously voted their approval of the $2 billion Las Vegas baseball stadium for the Athletics franchise.

SportsPro.com reports the county’ approval clears the process that will enable the team to access up to $380 million in public funding for the stadium. The team must also establish the guaranteed maximum price for the stadium and meet additional conditions, including the allocation of their initial $100 million on the project.

The stadium is scheduled to open in 2028 at the site of the former Tropicana hotel on the Las Vegas Strip. The A’s, who are leaving their longtime home in Oakland for Las Vegas, are responsible for all stadium construction costs except for the $380 million-limit in public funds.
