A Connecticut farmhouse property dating back to the Colonial Era has been listed at $8 million.

Patch.com reports the Greenwich property is owned by former NFL star quarterback Chris Simms and his wife Danielle, who acquired it in 2019 for $2.5 million. The historic residence, originally known as the Charles Green House, was originally built in 1725 and has been expanded and modernized over the years. Today, the 3,669-square-foot home includes five bedrooms and five bathrooms – and the new owner will be paying $25,563 in annual property tax.

The Historic Properties of Greenwich website highlights the property, stating, “The original core is significant in general as one of the town’s best examples of a pre-Revolutionary house, and more specifically, as the premier example of the one-and-a-half story saltbox, a transitional, 18th century building type, previously unrecognized as such, which incorporates English and Dutch methods of construction and design.”

Simms is the son of New York Giants icon Phil Simms. He played in the NFL from 2003 to 2010, primarily with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He is currently an NFL analyst for NBC Sports.
