CoStar Group has completed its $800 million cash acquisition of Zonda, expanding its presence in new-home construction data, builder software and residential real estate marketplaces.

The acquisition expands CoStar Group deeper into new-home construction data, builder software and residential real estate marketplaces.

CoStar Group has completed its $800 million cash acquisition of Zonda, significantly expanding the real estate information and marketplace company’s presence in the new-home construction industry.

CoStar announced the closing Friday, Aug. 21, after the transaction satisfied required regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.

The acquisition gives CoStar ownership of a business that provides new-home construction data, homebuilder software and residential real estate marketplace services to more than 3,000 customers. Those customers include homebuilders, developers, suppliers and lenders.

CoStar originally announced its agreement to acquire Zonda in May for $800 million in cash.

Zonda’s business reaches across multiple stages of residential development, beginning with land acquisition and development planning and extending through construction forecasting, community marketing, operational workflow management and home sales.

At the center of the platform is Zonda’s proprietary lot-level database covering new-home communities, land development activity, construction status, home sales and builder operations.

The acquisition also puts two new-construction home marketplaces, NewHomeSource.com and Livabl, into CoStar’s portfolio.

Both platforms focus on newly constructed homes and communities. They provide consumers with information including floor plans, pricing, incentives, virtual tours and community information, with homebuilders contributing listings directly to the platforms.

Zonda also brings a sizable existing business to CoStar. According to CoStar, Zonda generated approximately $170 million in revenue during 2025 with an adjusted EBITDA margin of 23%.

The acquisition comes as CoStar continues to expand its presence in residential real estate.

The company already operates Homes.com and Apartments.com and owns Matterport, in addition to its commercial real estate information and marketplace businesses including CoStar and LoopNet.

Adding Zonda gives CoStar another significant foothold in residential housing, this time centered specifically on the new-home construction process and the builders, developers, lenders and other companies operating within it.

CoStar also identified potential opportunities to combine Zonda’s Envision visualization and digital merchandising technology with Matterport’s spatial technology, although those integrations and their potential benefits remain forward-looking.

CoStar entered into the definitive agreement to acquire Zonda in May. In its second-quarter regulatory filing, the company said the transaction was expected to close during the second half of 2026 and remained subject to customary closing conditions.

Those conditions have now been satisfied.

With Friday’s announcement, the acquisition is complete and Zonda is now part of CoStar Group.
