The Toronto-headquartered Canadian Apartment Properties Real Estate Investment Trust (CAPREIT) (TSX: CAR.UN) has appointed James Lawrence as chief operating officer (COO), effective Sept. 1.
In a statement, the company said Lawrence will be responsible for “strengthening CAPREIT’s operating platform by advancing process standardization, technology enablement, and a people-first approach to operational excellence.”
Lawrence was previously at CBRE for over 19 years, most recently serving as COO for the company’s Property Management business in Canada. Earlier in his career, he was an accounting manager at Deloitte.
CAPREIT President and CEO Brad Cutsey stated, “James has an impressive track record of bringing together people, technology and processes to enhance performance and operational excellence. That experience is highly complementary to the breadth of expertise in place across CAPREIT’s senior leadership team, and will be an invaluable asset as we move forward and continue to build on CAPREIT’s success.”
